Planting trees is one of my favorite projects to do in a landscape. I have worked in the landscaping business for about 5 years now and have planted hundreds of trees. It is a project that makes you feel good and it drastically changes a landscape.
There are some major dos and don’ts when it comes to tree planting. The first thing you need to consider is what type of tree you would like to plant. You need to know how large the tree is going to become and how much sun or shade the tree variety needs. You do not want to plant a large variety of tree too close to your house, likewise, you do not want to plant a small shade tree in the middle of your yard that gets full sun.
Knowing the correct size of tree is a major factor when it comes to the longevity of the tree. You do not want to have to remove the tree in 10 to 15 years because it was too close to the house.
